A Lifelong Journey with Breath
My journey with breathwork began in the early 1980s when I was first introduced to Hatha Yoga. Through this practice, I discovered the profound impact that conscious breathing has on the body and mind. Over time, I deepened my understanding of the Science of Breath and its essential role in personal transformation.
A pivotal moment in my exploration of breathwork came in the early 2000s while studying with Dian Booth, a Master Sound, Colour, and Movement Healer, in Alice Springs and the surrounding desert. Dian's work, deeply rooted in the Tibetan/Zen tradition through the lineage of Roshi John Garrie, emphasised the power of breath in all aspects of healing. As a certified healer and teacher in this tradition, I absorbed these essential elements and incorporated them into my own practice.
The Power of Sound, Colour, and Movement
Sound and colour have been integral to healing practices since ancient times. Civilizations such as the Pharaonic Egyptians and Ancient Greeks understood their significance in promoting balance and health. However, much of this knowledge was lost through the ages, only to resurface in modern times as an essential component of holistic well-being. Dian Booth has been a key facilitator in reviving these ancient healing modalities, integrating them with breathwork for a profound transformative experience.
A Transformative Experience in Damanhur
In 2010, my breathwork journey took me to Damanhur in Northern Italy, where I experienced a profound personal transformation. Through Damanhurian Transformational Breathwork, I was able to release long-held grief, loss, and trauma. The process also helped me confront and release deep-seated anger, allowing me to emerge with a renewed perspective on life. The lessons I gained during this time became invaluable elements of Simply Better Breathwork.
